Born on 15th July. 1938. Dr.
Kacker is a graduate and postgraduate of KGMC. Lucknow . Before doing
thp. postgraduation he was House Surgeon at Maulana Azad Medicnl
College in IBGO-61. After doing MS in 1963, he was appointed as an
Assistant Professor at AIIMS in Sept 1963 where he served till 1995. In
betwen he went. abroad and did FRCS in 1968. Dr. Kacker became the
Professor in 1976 and Director of AUMS in 1990. Presrmtly he is a
Senior Consultant at Batra Hospital, New Delhi.
He has been awarded RAF Cooper award in 1969. BC Roy award in 1981.
Padma Shri in 198G. Jawahar Lal Nehru Fellowhip in 1987 and Dr. am
Prakash Bhasin award in 1992. He was President of AOI in 1987-88 and
President of NES of India 1985-86. He was Editor of IJLO between
1972-73 and Chairman of Editorial Board of I.JLO between 1977-78. He
was World representative of India in the World Congress of ORL in 1985
and 1989. He had been member and chairman of various committees
constituted by the Government of India, WHO. lCMR and IFOS. He had been
the Hon. Surgeon to the President of India .
Dr.
Kacker has published 155 research papers in various national and
Internationnl journals and has written chapters in 5 books. His main
interests am in Otology. Neuro-otology and skull base surgery.
